February 2017: American Heart Month

February is American Heart Month, which launched in 1964. Clear Font Media recognizes the special health observance with a 2017 poster – The Art of Loving Your Heart.™

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. It’s a great time to think about your loved ones and raise awareness. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. Cardiovascular disease accounts for about 1 of every 3 deaths in United States, according to 2017  American Heart Association statistics.  Cardiovascular diseases claim more lives each year than all forms of cancer combined.

The good news is that much can be done to prevent heart disease and stroke.

Public and private sectors have put the spotlight on the negative impact of heart disease and stroke. Two national initiatives that play a vital role in fighting heart disease are MillionHearts® and Go Red for Women®.

With increased awareness and prevention, greater progress can be achieved and more lives saved. So this February, help get the word out about American Heart Month. Friday, February 3 is National Wear Red Day®.
