He has led and contributed to multiple national public health campaigns and initiatives, covering asthma, diabetes control, flu vaccination, oral health, generic drugs for seniors, Medicaid enrollment, suicide prevention, seat belt use and the NIH National Children's Study.
Bill has won 98 national awards for marketing communications. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master of Arts degree in Public Communications from American University. He is a former journalist who wrote for dailies, weeklies and Associated Press. He was a columnist for PR TACTICS, a Public Relations Society of America publication. His book on nonprofit marketing, Inspire Good, won a distinguished Hermes Creative Award.
Bill enjoys running and has completed nine marathons in cities across the country, from Philadelphia to San Francisco. Along the way, he has helped to raise funds for cancer research.
